Procedure
The laser beam penetrates deeply into the skin, where it
delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat. The heat
delivered by the laser produces sufficient dermal
temperatures allowing not only collagen remodeling, but also
collagen contraction allowing the rejuvenation of your skin,
restoring its youthful quality, tone and appearance.
What to Expect?
Once you arrive to the spa, for your session of Laser Skin
Tightening, our receptionist will guide you to the waiting
area where, with the soothing sound of water cascades, you
will wait for a Medical Aesthetician. Before treatment with
Laser Skin Tightening, a topical numbing cream is applied to
the treatment area for 30-40 minutes prior to treatment. At
the treatment room you will be provided with safety eyewear
to protect your eyes from the laser light. A Laser Skin
Tightening sessions normally last 45 minutes or less.
Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser
pulse, sometimes described like the snapping of a rubber
band on the skin.
Preparation
Patients scheduled for Laser Skin Tightening should make
certain the skin is thoroughly cleansed and dried,
removing any make up, creams, oils, topical anesthetics or
self-tanning products before the Laser Skin Tightening
treatment. Avoid direct exposure to the sun or sun tanning
beds for two or more weeks prior to treatment.
After Treatment
Since there is not down time with Laser Skin Tightening,
most patients return to normal activities the same day. Any
redness or swelling, after your Laser Skin Tightening
treatment, should resolve within a few hours. Also, you
should prevent sun exposure. Once the Laser Skin Tightening
treatment, your Medical Aesthetician will apply an layer of
sunblock.
